"Why do you think women campaigned for separate spaces in the first place"? They didn't. Women were excluded. From places of worship, from public toilets, from "professional" jobs, from education They campaigned to be included and were given separate facilities as a sop.

Current discourse is trying to erase the gendered nature of the IPV black women endure specifically, and it just goes to show how disrespected and undervalued Black women’s political thought is. Misogynoir has been extensively theorized for decades now.

This also bans trans men from all facilities and makes it *unlawful* for a women's group to include trans women even if every member and organiser wants them there. It is quite literally to the far, far right of Thatcher's position on LGBTQ rights. It is fascism beyond measure.
