The actually relevant conclusion is that Russia's deficit of APCs and IFVs is so severe that they are converting obsolete MBTs into improvised APCs.

Sure this is an example of innovation and adaption. But its innovation born of extreme desperation

Another fun parts of this, is that those Russian apologists masquerading as experts (academia, tanks, Twitter) r in reality irrelevant. I once asked some of my former ops colleagues who had just returned from Ukraine what they thought of these people. The reply- “who?”😂 Brutal.

At some point, it would be nice to collect the receipts. I mean, it’s all in public, what the tankies and Twitter warriors and other Russia apologists said. I’ll buy a beer (or 3) to anyone who puts together such a report.

The excuses were: They'll lead to WW3. Ukraine doesn't need them. Ukraine can't figure out how to use them. They're old and may not even work (my favorite).

In my first piece for Chatham House and The Independent, I write about the impact the US aid package to Ukraine will have - and the cost of its delay. I also argue
that a new, secure long-term funding model is required to help Ukraine win the war

With the US confirming that long-range ATACMs have already been sent to Ukraine (and that they have been used), There is evidence that the Biden administration has learned some very important lessons. Looking at when and how the decision was made, holds out hope for the future.

A fascinating piece from Phillips P. OBrien. Highly recommended to understand where and how US politics might go with a Trump victory in November.

“European leaders cannot afford to let American political dysfunction dictate European security.” Kyiv needs help to win the war—and it is time for European countries to deploy troops to Ukraine, write G Alexander Crowther, Jahara Matisek, and Phillips P. OBrien.

A great article by Paul Krugman which is both angry at how the USA under MAGA influence had done great damage to Ukraine before approving the new aid bill, but also shows how important such aid is to both Ukraine and the USA.

After 30+ years of “peace dividends” and “no votes in defence”, we now have all of HMG promising more defence spending. But it would be so much more reassuring if it wasn’t years into a crisis, 6 months before an election and it came with a realistic funding and spending plan.

Released this piece yesterday, which has a full interview with a senior Republican Party insider, describing where the Party is right now, what has happened about its policy towards Ukraine, and what might happen if Trump is elected. The whole interview is free.
