Oh how I hope that schools respond this to this by thinking creatively about how teaching practice needs to evolve so that learning is accessible to everyone. Stoked to be a part of this mahi with Teachers@ PPTA rnz.co.nz/news/national/…

If you’re an English teacher in Aotearoa then register for this. I reckon it’s our best workshop yet. Incredible input from some of the best, including Whiti Hereaka, Jane Dewer, Dr Robert Sullivan, Dr Jennifer Glenn and based on the mahi of Dr Shaun Hawthorne

Our Kāhui Ako conference was yesterday. It was huge and wonderful and I am a very tired girl. So proud of our attitude towards ongoing learning, our wonderful colleagues, our presenters and community and tauira and our incredible key-note speaker Melanie Riwai-Couch Ph.D. 🙏🏼

Well well well, what an outstanding NZ Association for the Teaching of English conference. Brain melting key-notes, inspiring kōrero, new pals, good vintage shopping. Thank you for having on council for three years - a tremendous privilege. It is good to be home, in sweats, with my boys and by the fire.

When you feel burnout approaching at the end of term and then spend the holidays with a five year old and renegotiate what you think ‘close to burn out’ feels like, because then it’s the beginning of term all over again.
