Today’s imbongi reminds me of that tweet to rename Cape Town to Qu!xe Gq!kum…….creative SAns. The Khoi and San members of our society are indeed recognised.

I used to listen to metro FM all day, the talk show with Tim Modise in the evenings. Metro Sundays were even better. 1994, my matric year and I’ve listened to them all šŸ‘‡šŸ½

If this is a no-fee school and parents are Sassa grant beneficiaries then the school is wrong. Kids should be at school. DBE minister has to intervene.

The microwave oven that I bought in 2000, LG intellowave, amazes me. It still works perfectly, sings, bulb has never fused.

Universities have started to visit schools as applications for admission open from April. The stress is around the admission requirements, 80% for BSc, 90% for Medicine they told our kids. The pressure is too much & I don’t think it’s necessary, 70% average can ace these degrees.

Margarine, cheese, milk & amagwinya (I only had a taste of these when I stayed with my mom from 1986). There was a home in my hood (gran’s house) that used to host church members monthly. They baked a lot and we’d go there with cuz for 2 magwinyas each. This was heavenly.

Migration & refugee crisis in SA: experts say it’s our constitution, based on Ubuntu values, that’s putting our country in this situation. Doesn’t matter if there are wars or not, people seeking asylum can’t be denied. Poor SAns will remain worse off due to limited resources.

Gauteng’s weather is perfect for samp with beans and beef stew with chunky veggies. My housemates eat white samp, no beans and oh they love pap. Jozi things 🤧

When water system updates show critically low (red) in Rabie Ridge, Diepsloot and Steyn City then our turn is coming 😰 Where are the engineers to save us from this horror?

Yesterday there was a Tswana/Xhosa wedding in our clubhouse. The outfits were gorgeous. We’ve become wiser, spending R120k for a wedding venue vs R500 clubhouse. Love it.

Listing coastal SA, Jozi & Cape Town…..the seller/homeowner is never a South African. They stay abroad. Our problems are too many in this country. There is no reason for these properties to cost R25m for being closer to the ocean. Schrƶdinger's PhD we need a commission of inquiry

Weekend wrap up. Blink twice and it’s back to work again. This limited series was entertaining. ā€œCheating husbands never leave, you have to make their wives leave themā€.

Hey guys Anele and The Club on 947 Working moms definitely work harder than stay at home moms. We don’t ever get a break: lunch prep, school drop offs, bosses breathing down our necks, colleagues, KPIs, working after hours & weekends, school pick ups, cooking, taking care of the family.

Suzuki has done well, almost every 2nd car in our roads is a Suzuki and I thought they were produced locally already. We are in desperate need of these manufacturing jobs.

Youngsters who don’t want to go to school, terrorise their parents & communities, stealing from them to get drugs….things don’t end well because communities deal with them. A young man in my family was killed by community members in 2025, another one yesterday. Parenting is hard
