Opioids are decent analgesics initially, more or less on par with NSAIDs. With regular use, their primary benefit becomes the prevention of opioid withdrawal.

it can be very hard to publicly change your mind.
but when people challenge themselves through reading, critiquing and reflecting on evidence/actions, it can be a sign of great personal character to do so.

I believe pharmacists are hugely under used and under appreciated. At least in UK medicine.
