Chez les Aït Segoual, la langue des contes emploi des noms parfois différent de ceux du langage courant :
-bucεeṛ wuḏem « homme » (/argaz)
-ɛemmi belqaṣem « hérisson » (/anasi)
-butɣerruzan « loup » (/uccen), de taɣerruzt 'peau de chèvre'

Cela existe-t-il chez vous aussi ?

Nighteye Rurouni_Phoenix Yeah, few things illustrate the difference between medieval and modern standard Arabic as well as Google translate, which is highly serviceable at the latter but 'boil a baby grandpa' for the former.

1/17 Does the earliest reading of Ex. 6:8, found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, indicate that “Isaac and Jacob” is a later addition (see image) as authors of “Abraham Fulfilled”, Abu Zakariya Adnan Rashid and Zakir Hussain claim? A thread on how *not* to do textual criticism.

The funny thing about it to me is that forms of Arabic with /ē/ were actually among the contributors of the Arabic loan component in Persian. For example, that's why معنی is pronounced that way in Persian.

The number of words in a language’s dictionary tells you nothing about how “rich” it is, but a lot about how nerdy the lexicographers are.
