Since arriving in China, meetings founders and VCs have left me with a very dim view of the current state affairs. Things are so bad. In 2018, 51,302 new startups were founded. Last year, that number was down to 1,202. It took a while for that number to sink in.

Kosovo ruling party in last local elections won in only 4 out of 38 municipalities in Kosovo. Now the ruling party in central government decided to finance housing for affordable living and picked 4 municipalities to give funding to. Guess which ones they picked?

Front pages of Serbian government media this morning: 1) “Urgent measures: possible declaration of Kosovo as occupied territory by Vucic” 2) “USA wants a world war: civilians are aimed by ATACMS” 3) “Albanian terror has no red lines” 4) “A draw! Analysis of debate Harris Trump”.

One of countries I genuinely follow on news and wish the best - and I also wish Kosovo could somehow help, even with our limited resources - is #Haiti. I visited Port-au-Prince twice, they were warm hosts who recognized Kosovo early on & hosted me for Caribbean summit. 🇽🇰 🇭🇹 🕊️

Quite incredible but Albania had 8.5 million tourists so far in 2024, which is close to what Croatia has recorded this year. Biggest group is from Kosovo but Chinese, Moroccan, Turkish, Japanese and Western tourists have all had 50-170% growth rate, as stated by Edi Rama.
