Today, primary 5 went outside with chalk to practice the 6 times table. Some groups were inventive and created a hopscotch trail. As they went along, they call out the times tables. Great idea! Fernielea School
Another group wrote the 6times table answers on the outside and inside of the star in the playground Fernielea School
Yesterday we played some team building games in PE and ended off with a game of Chaos tag! Afterwards we had singing and we learned a really fun game that the children have begged me to play with them again! Isnt learning fun! 😊 Fernielea School
Today we enjoyed some problem solving. Children were tasked to arrange numbers into the circles to add up to the same number then create squares using straws. It was quite challenging but great team work and language used to discuss Fernielea School

I introduced P5 to a spelling game called Boom, Bang today! It's simple but encourages them to read aloud their spelling words in orde to win a card. They had great fun winning...until they got a boom or bang card! Great fun! Fernielea School
Children are asked to bring in blankets tomorrow as we are making dens in the classroom. The more the merrier please! They will be having a wee snack too. It's going to be great fun! Fernielea School

Very impressed with making our own butter in a jar today for our science experiment. It tasted lovely on a scone or tiger bread! Fernielea School
Reminder tomorrow is Den day and children can bring blankets and pillows in. The more the merrier as I do not have many. Children can BRING pjs with them in a bag to change into but please do not wear them TO school. #denbuilding #teamwork Fernielea School
Today we made ice cream in a bag for food skills. We learned to measure ingredients, we learned about mixing ice and salt and how the salt lowers the ice temperature which speeds up the process of making ice cream. Fernielea School
We attempted to make butter and almost gave up but one child was adamant we could do it and a minute later, butter started to form! They then chose to either make a sandwich or have toast to try it. Great skills learned today. It was yummy! Fernielea School
Lots of sensory play today identifying colours using a food bag filled with oil and Pom Poms. They had to manoeuvre the Pom poms to the relevant colour area. It was great fun Fernielea School
Puff pastry dough rings made for our last cooking skills group today. They were so fine topped with icing sugar and sprinkles. Fernielea School
