On Ash Wednesday at 6.30pm, the Cathedral Choir sing Palestrina's Missa Emendemus and Lobo's Versa est in luctum, written for the funeral of Philip II of Spain in 1598. Come and start the Lenten journey against the backdrop of this reflective choral music.

Tonight at Evensong, we had more Stanford during his anniversary year - A Song of Wisdom, with some gloriously high notes! 🎶

🎶 Join us on Thursday 1 February for our annual performance of Olivier Messiaen’s masterpiece for organ, La Nativité du Seigneur. The work is a meditation on the birth of Christ and is one of the greatest organ works of all time.

☃️ Did you hear our Choristers singing on BBC Derby? There’s still time to hear them sing Away in a manger and Frosty the Snowman as part of the BBC Radio Derby carol service on BBC Sounds.

Mr Turner is ready for ‘the chord’. In preparation, he is wearing this tie which has been bought for him as a Christmas present by the Voluntary Choir. 🎶

This morning we welcomed Sue Hind Woodward from the Cathedral Music Trust as we celebrated the grant we’ve receive to support Lay Clerks’ fees. We are enormously grateful to them for all the support they give Cathedral Choirs around the UK.
