Actual knowledge about the dynamics of managing a crisis is the most important aspect of applying Crisis Mgt,beyond knowing about the actual scenario, as the same features that point to success or failure in any crisis, regardless of scenario, frequently occur across all sectors.

Astonishing really. Leader of Independent Police Advisory group asked by Ch4 news if a Churchill statue should be removed. “I haven’t actually met him.”

Farewell Capt. Tom. I have never seen before the appearance of one modest person who had so caught the heart of a nation at precisely the right time and in precisely the right way. For me he embodied all that we hold dear in this country: courage, fortitude and modesty.

Oxford University (Pembroke College). I’m greatly looking forward to giving a talk on 13 July on the role and duties of a Justice of the Peace. A personal invitation that I hope goes well.

There is a clear solution already out there. An economic model that unlike the relentless pursuit of GDP balances between essential human needs and planetary boundaries. ‘Doughnut Economics’ by English economist Kate Raworth. Very convincing and farbetter than stopping the M25….

For many orgs. Risk, BC, Data Sec. mgt. etc. have been discrete activities that more by happenstance increase net resilience. We now need far more synchronised, combined and focused effort where the clear target is increased net Resilience across entire orgs. and supply routes.

I fear Putin is likely to sever deep ocean internet cables (blaming trawlers). His vessels are often around the UK. He’s also demonstrated ability to shoot down satellites. I fear a feeble response by the West. Vital that Org. Resilience is now the focus of all preparations.

Like many others I am appalled that organisations such as the UN do nothing in Ukraine especially when the first line of the 1945 UN charter to explain why they exist states: “We the peoples of the United Nations determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war”.
