I just share (usually) self taken photos, normally far too many of the Moon, Sun and clouds! You'll also find me on Bluesky where (so far) it's quite pleasant

More processed images from this morning's occultation of Saturn by the 98% full Moon. Saturn was quite dull, the Moon very bright so a bit of process 'twiddling' needed. #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #MoonHour™️Social #MoonHour #Astronomy #Astrophotography

My final effort from this morning's superb Moon/Saturn occultation event. About 05.20 as the ringed planet re-emerged as first light began. This is a single image. No composite and minimal editing. #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #Astrophotography #Occultation #saturn #MoonHour

And to completely wrap up today, here's this evening's Moon, now at 93% and you can see the gap between it and Saturn. A whole tree apart - Goodnight all! #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #MoonHour

Friday morning's Solar observation! Lots of active #Sunspots to see. After the Moon/Saturn excitement it's nice to get back to routine! #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #SunHour

Good morning. It's my birthday today. Only fitting I should be greeted with a blue sky and a beautiful Moon! It's currently waning in its third quarter phase and quite gorgeous #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #MoonHour

It's great to see a half Moon and full Sun and shoot them both within minutes! It's been kind weather for the #BankHolidayMonday in London so far. #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #Astronomy #MoonHour #SunHour

I imaged Saturn last night (around 4am but I'm told that anything after midnight is this morning). Hugely cropped so looks better on your phone. I've got a better colour than my last effort. #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #Astronomy

Another gathering of planetary bodies last night. This time, the waning Moon (at 30% lit) with a red Mars below and Jupiter to its right. #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #astronomy

I've updated my composite of Saturn images from the past 4 years to show the 'tilt' caused by planet and orbit movement. Top to bottom: 1. Nov 20, 2. Aug 21, 3. July 22, 4. Aug 23, 5. Aug 24. Rings will be visually side on in March 25 #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #astronomy #Saturn

Time for a bit of Solar observation. There's a new (or maybe an old one on its 2nd lap) Sunspot group in the southeast. Could be one to watch in the next few days. #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #Astronomy #Solar #Flares

Wednesday's Solar observation. The Sunspot group in the southeast is numbered AR3813 and currently has 24 individual spots. If it remains active it'll be facing Earth in a few days and could generate magnetic storms which are aurora producing #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #Astronomy
