Ambulances and Low Traffic Neighbourhoods - after a video showing an ambulance appearing to get lost around LTNs in Oxford last week we asked SCAS about it. So in case you missed it on BBC Oxfordshire (as there’s more discussion on here about this tonight) this what they said:

Outstanding work from the folks vandalising the East Oxford LTNs here. Damaged a removable bollard by ripping it out / driving over it so much that when a fire engine wants to come through they have to cut it because their key doesn't work. Nice one 👍 bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…

Just in case you weren't sure what modes of transport are being prioritised in big Oxford infrastructure projects.... Yep, it's four lanes of vehicular traffic 🤦

Why does Copenhagen invest so much in cycle infrastructure? They calculated every km. cycled produces a societal economic gain of DKK 4.79 (€0,64); every km. driven loses DKK 5.29 (€0,71). Society therefore saves DKK 10.08 (€1,35) per km. when people cycle rather than drive.
