🗣️ 'Is it because his austerity is even worse than the Conservative variety?' SNP MP Pete Wishart takes aim at Keir Starmer over the Prime Minister's 'calamitous opinion ratings'

Pete Wishart (@petewishart) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Why does he think his personal ratings have dropped so spectacularly? I offer a few helpful suggestions. All together now 🎤'things can only get wor-rse, they can only get, only get....' 🎶

Really pleased that funding has been restored and a satisfying outcome for all those that lobbied for this both behind the scenes and more directly.....

It is absurd that in 2024 there are still toffs in our legislature through birthright. Where this is welcome what Labour intend to do is replace them by appointing even more of their own cronies and donors. A new Labour aristocracy if you like... theguardian.com/politics/artic…

Today we remember our dear colleague, Bruce, who so sadly left this world exactly one year ago. You are sorely missed by the band and the whole Runrig community.

Artists and (particularly) their management have to be more aware of what is being done in their name. It is the artist that carries the can and in the end are accountable to their fans. Hopefully all tours will now be planned with the artist asking how tickets will be allocated

The 'change' promised by Labour seems to be swapping Conservative austerity for an even worse Labour variety. My Perthshire Advertiser article.

Fascinating visit to the library at Innerpeffray. The first lending library in Scotland and on the site of a Roman settlement. Being assisted by the Tay Cities Deal. What you find out about the new parts of your constituency......

Fantastic look at our break out album The Cutter and the Clan. Everything came together for a band that wanted to showcase Gaelic and Highland culture to the world. It was also my first album with the band and really proud of what I brought to the record. heraldscotland.com/life_style/245…

Well, this is certainly one thing he seems to have had some sort of success with. Compare the current miserabilism with the cheery change agenda he promised only a few weeks ago.

There will be lots of articles about the indyref 10 years on to mark the anniversary. But you can relive all the dramas and excitement with my account of the build up to that exceptional day. Out this week with a launch in Perth on Thursday.

This is a massive week for Scottish Labour MPs and could define their whole Parliamentary term. We have the most demanding climate in the UK and only a fraction of our pensioners will receive support if this is voted through. It's now up to them to do the right thing. Will they?

Really enjoyed speaking at the EU Citizen's Summit for Change organised by the 3 million tonight. A well considered agenda to improve the situation for EU nationals in the UK. It's over now to the new Government....

At some point today someone from Labour is going to say that it's all the fault of 'the SNP' that Labour MPs are voting to cut heating support for pensioners. This is how ridiculous they are becoming....

Today, I will be voting against Labour's intention to cut the winter fuel allowance to thousands of pensioners in Perth and Kinross-shire. This can be stopped if enough MPs vote against. Ask your MP to join us and vote against this callous plan.
