The fact is economic law is immutable. You can hide the real cost for some time, but economic reality is what it is--and the consequences of actions cannot be escaped. Living beyond one's means, whether individually or nationally, makes one poorer. There's no escaping this fact.

By "expected to win" you mean Próspera is in the right here? Such a strange framing of the legal dispute. Special economic zones are a very compelling policy solution for developing countries to accelerate their development. Many success stories.

Rated 4.6 on Amazon and 4.4 on Goodreads. And it's free if you buy or download from the Mises Store. If you haven't already, do check it out. How to Think about the Economy: A Primer is suitable for students, lay readers, friends, and family members!

This is what people stuck in their blinding politics and lacking basic knowledge in the philosophy of science say. The projection probable boosts their own egos, but it's at best boring.

It is curious to me that these haters are so unable to actually present a counterargument. It's much less curious that they so often resort to projecting their inability onto others. I'm here for the debate; join me or not, but please don't waste my time.

“Imports are real benefits and exports are real costs”? (Mosler 2010, p. 59) MMT is the modern take on mercantilism based on the recognition that state currency is in fact "worthless" (as Kelton put it).

How I wish someone in Austrian economics would've thought of writing down the theory. The oral economics tradition is fighting an uphill battle. /s
