Getting some throws action in before noon today at WPIAL - final instructions for the second flight of the boys AAA javelin at Slippery Rock Track and Field MileSplit Pennsylvania

The first track champions of this year’s WPIAL finals, the Shady Side Academy Athletics girls 4x800 relay team defending their title in 9:34.10. MileSplit Pennsylvania

Count ‘em - 1, 2, 3 …! The girls AA high jump field is down to 8 as the bar moves up to 5-4. With their 5-2 clearances, the WPIAL Sports will send all 8 to 🚢 for the PIAA final! MileSplit Pennsylvania

They are soaring in the AA girls high jump as the bar is up to 5-8 with two remaining. 🤩 MileSplit Pennsylvania

And the girls AA high jump winner with a first-attempt over at 5-8 is Quaker Valley T&F/XC junior Oumou Thiero. She is now T-PA#2 overall, tied for first statewide in AA and a school record holder after her PR jump. 👏 MileSplit Pennsylvania

And the bar is going down??? Yes, ma’am, for the 4-man jumpoff in the AAA boys high jump at WPIAL . The bar is now at 6-5 after starting the jumpoff at 6-6. MileSplit Pennsylvania

What a battle in the AAA boys high jump!!!! Darkari Payne of Seneca Valley Sports and Dylan Langdon of John Neff emerged from a 4-jumper jumpoff to extend the event to 16 jumps each for the top duo. Payne gets the WPIAL title with his second clearance of 6-5. WOW! MileSplit Pennsylvania

Better with every throw, Nolan Carey of Corry Area is backing up his PA#1 ranking in the second flight of the AA boys javelin at PIAA District 10 . The senior opened at 189-4, hit 191-4 and then 192-11 to move to the finals. MileSplit Pennsylvania

I think it’s time to double-check those anchors and weights on the pop-up (and blow away) tents at PIAA District 10 . The winds have been unrelenting. MileSplit Pennsylvania

One of the most entertaining 1,600s I’ve seen in some time … KMc runs of Greenville and Anne-Catherine Brown of Cathedral Prep Track & Field were equals for almost 4 full laps, matching stride for stride and swapping the lead. McElhaney closed the best, going 5:01.19 to win. MileSplit Pennsylvania
