The Design To Thrive team kicked of a 4-week design course led by Fellows at PennPraxis in partnership with Philly Thrive.The first week was filled with team building activities,art workshops and museum visits inspiring participants to act as agents of change through design.

Design Fellows are working with Philly Thrive around Stinger Square Park to develop an advocacy plan for this vibrant urban commons. The plan is tapestry of different dreams and visions reflected in these collages put together by park neighbors at design events. Weitzman School of Design at Penn

Continuing the work done by Studio+,an interdisciplinary studio at the Weitzman School of Design,with Architecture CTE students at West Philadelphia High School,Design Fellows lead a high school design/build summer program.With The Netter Center's support the project is underway.
PennPraxis’ project share last week focused on work by Center for the Preservation of Civil Rights Sites research assistants, whose work is dedicated to making places shaped by civil rights struggles and triumphs more visible, and changing the community of practice around #historicpreservation in the process.
Design to Thrive was a four-week design career and exploration course lead by PennPraxis Design Fellows in partnership with Philly Thrive .Fellows designed a curriculum to expose teenagers from Philadelphia to a variety of mediums opening up various career paths moving forward.
This month the West Philadelphia High School design/build summer program, part of an ongoing partnership between PennPraxis and The Netter Center, culminated in a community celebration of a space built by and for the high school’s students.
