Delighted to learn that I received the Geoffrey Tootell Dissertation-in-progress Award in Mathematical Sociology ASA Sociology. I would dedicate this honor to my great colleagues and committee, who generously support my research about migration, immobility, networks, and methodology.

One thing we can do to be more collegial? When we frame our work in the lit. to show our contributions, let's not attack or diminish other scholars' work. Benign vocabulary works just as well: build on, extend, complement, etc. rather than 'they ignore' 'fall short' 'dismiss' etc
