We just recovered from the Derbyshire Open Arts weekend, but a new month brings new challenges! Ingrid Katarina Karlsson is getting ready for Haddon Hall Gatehouse Gallery with PeakDistrictArtisans. Here her latest piece in the Abode series, the crumbling old Ferriser Farmstead in Macclesfield Forest.

Haddon's Gatehouse Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition by PeakDistrictArtisans with nine artists from 17th to 23rd June. Ingrid Katarina Karlsson is known as a narrative artist telling stories through mixed media, subject matter inspired by landscapes, wildlife, words, and places.
Ingrid Katarina Karlsson has finished Abode series, which looks at little buildings in the landscape. This story, in 12 chapters, has meandered through the seasons around the Peak District as well as the north of Sweden. This final one is called Sheep Farm, Chapel en le Frith.

Artist on holiday means letting go of all the nitty gritty, washing your mind clean of worries, and just being. Ingrid Katarina Karlsson is returning from a wonderful summer stay in northern Sweden, hopefully with renewed energy for an autumn in the studio.
I’m looking forward to the Autumn Art Fair with PeakDistrictArtisans the 9th & 10th November at The Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale, DE4 2EQ, 10.00-16.30. You will find me in the Gallery with new original work, framed and mounted prints, plus brand new cards in the Bird Box series.
