Aug. 5th marked the 79th Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Together with civil society and NGO leaders, we gathered in front of the Japanese Consulate in Manhattan to honor the memory of those affected by the bombings in 1945.

Meet Valentina, a passionate PBUS Youth for the SDGs participant from Ecuador, whose journey has been as diverse as it is impactful. Growing up near the Ecuadorian Coast, she developed a deep connection with the ocean, which has fueled her dedication to marine conservation.

This past June during our Youth for the SDGs program, the Peace Boat sailed through the waters of the Kenai Fjords National Park. The park was established in 1980 to preserve the unique fjords and ecosystem. #biodiversity #alaska #arctic

Meet Alexandra Guzman, a dedicated marine biologist whose passion for our oceans drives her incredible work in Panama! She joined the Peace Boat “Youth for the SDGs” program for the UN Ocean Decade from Mexico to Vancouver and Alaska this year.

Onboard Peace Boat’s 117th Global Voyage, the Ukraine Youth Ambassadors organized numerous workshops introducing Ukrainian culture, history, traditions, everyday life and customs.
