Today we planted Memory Trees at the Sanctuary. The dogs need protection from the wind and sun, and we could not think of a more beautiful way to remember our loved ones, human and canine ❤️

Holy Week must be the time for giving! Her family drove to us to dump their dog because they didn’t want her any more. As they drove off, they didn’t even look back. Her only blessing is that they brought her to us, and didn’t leave her in the streets. Their trash… our treasure.

The worst horror, new born pups tied into a bag and dumped, placenta still intact. We have been struggling to get them to take syringed milk. The tiny screaming is constant as we gently massage them, trying to keep them alive. And then they die in your hand. 🥲

Paws2Rescue are still neutering in Ukraine. Our vets just returned after their trip, as more prepare to go this week - with our medical supplies too! Working with Worldwide Vets, 403 animals were neutered in the 10 day visit. All animals were rabies vaccined and de-wormed too.

We are over the moon to see Gamila eat on her own for the first time again! A small step, but we hope, the first of so many as she starts her recovery from being shot in the face. Wonderful news to start our week!

Gamila, our Egyptian girl shot in the face is doing well and we will update this week. For those who suggested “euthanise” her, please see family photos of Jack, also from Cairo, also lost half his face and adopted, now living the dream. Every dog deserves a chance ❤️

This is an enclosure for 2 dogs, in our Sanctuary, for those who asked where they sleep. Look how many dogs can fit in whilst helping to clean! Doors open all day to give freedom to run, or privacy. Paradise in Romania for the dogs.

Gamila was shot in the face by a police officer in Cairo. She is in a private vet clinic, where Hanan and team are with her. Hanan has rehabilitated other dogs like Gamila and we support her decision and sponsoring Gamila in her medical care and recovery.

2 days on, she is learning to trust humans again, and enjoy treats she never had. So skinny and desperately sad, from life on a chain, to our (quarantine area for now) Sanctuary. Paradise found.

Our Sanctuary in Romania today. Because not every dog may ever have a family of their own, and life here is just the best! Freedom to run, or simply do whatever they want to. Thank you to those who have supported us whilst we build this paradise on earth.

Rescued today. This poor girl lived in the yard, with only a tree for shade. Unable to move as her neck was chained. This is so often the reality of pet dogs in Romania, but for this girl, her life changed today when we took her away. Safe and free forever now.

Rescued from the streets with breathing problems, eye infection, lumps and neglected claws. He is living in foster in Romania as treatments continue for his breathing issues. His vet bills paid, thanks to everyone who donates to support our work.

The old man is having a short stay at the vet clinic. With a few old age issues, babesiosis and exhaustion, he is staying under treatment for the time being. But he will never be alone again ❤️

Abandoned, old, in pain and very scared. How could anyone do this 😢 he is safe now of course and at the emergency vet. It breaks our hearts to think how he was probably discarded and left all alone and confused. It can be such a cruel world.

This is exactly why our focus is on neutering stray dogs.
