Day 2 at the #AyleshamInquiry reveals the moral script of regeneration. From “repairing the grain” to “less-than-substantial harm,” heritage becomes the language through which displacement is made palatable. conserveconnect.news/day-2-heritage… #Peckham #BrickLane #RyeLane #AyleshamCentre

Another criminal overdevelopment on flood plain, on land where infrastructure not able to cope and another example of Brent Council Labour ignoring resident's objections wholly. #Brent voters please, vote ANYONE other than Labour in 2026. Every single high rise proposed agreed

Ever had to evacuate a building with a single smoke-logged staircase, Kane? Do you know how frequently missing compartmentation comes up in intrusive surveys? Do you know how long it took for Richmond House to be destroyed by fire? Thought not.

Great news for the carbon industry!!Construction has begun of the tallest ‘residential’ concrete carbon factory in Manchester. Investor Robert De Nero admitted not being familiar with Mancs, but was sure buyers would come from all over the world, but not to live there, of course

Two really depressing things about yesterday's vote against nature (Planning & Infrastructure Bill). Firstly, it was so predictable, because Labour hates nature. Secondly, MPs are still being briefed that the Bill is good for nature, despite ALL evidence to the contrary.

Construction industry "professionals" & paid "think-tanks" have ramped up their lobbying to remove second staircases. A dangerous move that further compromises resident safety to stuff the pockets of unscrupulous, very rich developers. Pathetic. And we will fight it Steve Reed

Developers plan to erase East End history for ANOTHER soulless office block — in a city already drowning in empty offices. It’s greed, plain and simple. you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/save… via 38 Degrees

An interesting development. Pardon the pun. I remember meeting with local campaigners who were concerned about the impact of this scheme. We agreed our areas need genuinely affordable and social housing — not more unaffordable tower blocks.

English councils plan to sell off social clubs and sports centres to balance books. Social spaces lost forever. Libraries, community centres, school playgrounds, parks closed/sold as council funding cut in real terms to appease the rich. theguardian.com/society/2025/n…
