Leo and a group of like-minded people started collecting food. He sought donations from local grocery stores - only to be turned away. So, Leo went into the dumpsters to salvage the still edible food. From those humble beginnings, Paul's Pantry was born.

With support from local churches, businesses, individuals, and organizations - including the Green Bay Packers - the pantry continued to grow.

Today, Paul's Pantry is the largest food pantry in Wisconsin - and one of the largest in the country! And it is all made possible by the community!!

Everything at Paul's Pantry is either donated or purchased with donations. There is ZERO government food or funding.

The pantry is currently serving an average of 250 FAMILIES PER DAY, 5 days/week. The average family receives 75-100 pounds of food! All 100% free. 100% from the community.

But that's not the whole story. Paul's Pantry isn't about the food. It's about the PEOPLE. It's about DIGNITY.

Perhaps that's why more than 20 years ago, when the local newspaper asked more than 1,200 readers who to identify the most fascinating people in the history of Green Bay the results were as follows:

That's right. Curly Lambeau - who founded the Green Bay Packers - came in second place. Leo Frigo - who founded Paul's Pantry - was voted the most fascinating person in the history of Green Bay!

If that doesn't tell you what this place - and its founder - means to Green Bay, I don't know what will. The biggest bridge in town is even named after Leo.

Today, we are honored to carry on the tradition started by Leo more than four decades ago: Providing free groceries, dignity and hope to families in need. All thanks to the incredible support of the Green Bay community!
