Almost 34 years after Margaret Thatcher refused a public inquiry. Tomorrow, the Infected Blood Inquiry publishes its final report. Salute to every single person who has fought for the truth, an inquiry and justice since that time and before.

Every single victim of this scandal has been unforgivably, systemically failed — again and again and again. No more warm words, no more false dawns - we must now seize this moment to finally deliver justice. thetimes.co.uk/article/keir-s…

The stigma of HIV in the 80s & 90s was massive. That's why so many in the Infected Blood community basically went into hiding. Parents at the school me and my brother attended told the Headteacher that they didn't want their children at the same school as us.

Today is a seismic moment for victims of the #InfectedBlood scandal as Infected Blood Inquiry publishes their final report. They have been fighting for justice for over 40 years but shamefully have still not been compensated. That must urgently change. standard.co.uk/news/politics/…

The infected blood scandal is the greatest failure of the British state of my lifetime. The cruelty and arrogance of doctors, civil servants, administrators and ministers, all of whom thought they knew best both in the lethal treatments they gave to vulnerable people but then in

1/5 The Infected Blood Scandal is the worst example of an establishment cover-up that I have ever seen - and I speak as a former Health Secretary who campaigned against many such cover ups. Around 3,000 deaths and tens of thousands of lives ruined because unaccountable people in

'I know I was given lies as Health Secretary.' Andy Burnham tells Ben Kentish that 'corporate manslaughter charges' could be brought against Whitehall departments for the infected blood scandal as the cover-up meant people were unaware of the risks they were facing.

Government had final recommendations on compensation in April 23, a year ago and were only forced into action in December when the Government despite a 3 line whip were defeated on my amendment to the Victims & Prisoners Bill to implement Sir Brian’s recommendations. Go figure?

I was there with Andy Burnham for this debate in 2017 - his final debate in the Commons. Worth listening to again. I intervened to raise the case of a constituent which I raised again today 7 years later👇
