Big day for British ice hockey. Qualification for the Olympics at stake over the next four days. GB the outsiders but have upset the odds before…

Great effort by Team GB Ice Hockey in Aalborg but they go down 3-1 in their Olympic qualifier against group favourites Denmark. GB were very much in it until third period goals from NHL duo Ehlers and Eller and have much still to play for against Norway and Japan…

It was quite a day for England at Lord's yesterday: Gus Atkinson scored a century from No 8, Olly Stone and Matthew Potts each took two wickets in an over, and Ollie Pope - under fire from Michael Vaughan - declined to use a nightwatchman dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/…

Unpopular opinion: At this stage of the season we should be far more performance-oriented than result-oriented. Spurs are clearly improving and have played well in all three games, even if the points tally doesn’t tell that story. Continue playing like that and the wins will come

Tonight's Member's Forum headline: In July, the ECB sent through a high-level summary re: franchise sales. Asked for feedback by mid-August Essex - rejected proposal in full. Set out their 'legal position', or words to that effect. 5/6 other counties had the 'same view'

Who was that ECB guy who wanted more tribalism among fans in The Hundred? There’s plenty of it on display (in a good way) at Hove tonight. Another reminder of what a good competition the Vitality Blast is - even if this quarter-final is very one-sided so far!

Emphatic victory for Sussex Cricket in the @VitaityBlast quarter-finals over Lancashire. What a season they are having. What a job Paul Farbrace is doing at Hove as coach. Heading for Championship promotion and now to finals day…

Very good to see county cricket & the Vitality Blast thriving. Full house at Hove. A thumping win for Sussex Cricket. Please don’t forget about them in the unseemly rush for franchise cash #GOSBTS

Paul Newman Vitality Blast Tribalism comes from history and an attachment to a team. The premier league built on that, I’m not convinced it can be faked and bought through gimmicks and money. Something special about a smaller club beating a ‘big’ club, and that is sport!
