As we approach the end of #ChallengePoverty Week, our Director for Children, Young People & Communities Paul Sullivan shares some of the ways #BigNoise is tackling poverty by removing barriers to music education and creativity for young people across Scotland 🎶👇 #CPW24

We work with tutors who are not just brilliant musicians, but brilliant mentors and facilitators as well. Here Andrew (ACE V!S!ON) Bamusi talks abt their experience working with Sound Lab, and how the honesty of the tutors helped them to envision a way forward in their creative career.

Thanks to The Herald for carrying this piece about the impact of #BigNoise programmes in the communities we work in As always, the principle of working with communities, not for, is key. We're one of many community orgs doing exactly that, but it's never been more important

Thanks to Derrick Morgan for coming up to support our #BigNoiseDouglas young people in a rehearsal for their Royal Scottish National Orchestra side-by-side. It's their first time playing in front of a big audience at Caird Hall Dundee. Wee bit of nerves, but Derrick was great and they'll be amazing next week!

Please read this thread (and others from Martin) which highlight how public money is siphoned off into the private care sector, often (but not always) delivering poor care for kids Thankfully Scotland’s Parliament agreed with The Promise Scotland; for-profit care will end by 2030

We're having an open night for The Sound Lab on Thu 7th Nov 6-8pm at the Pentagon Centre in Glasgow, for anyone interested in getting involved to help in any capacity. Loads of roles, from occasional volunteering, to joining our board. Please share :) eventbrite.co.uk/e/volunteer-op…

The scale of destruction in Gaza strongly suggests that this is no longer war by any normal standards...Still, much of the mainstream media seems to be continuing the pretence that what is happening is a normal war rather than a systematic extermination 🇵🇸 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
