We wanted solarpunk, instead we got monoclonal antibodies. As people get back to work after SynBioBeta and Memorial Day, I want to provoke some thoughts about what we work on and why. Let's make the most of bioengineering's potential in climatetech. punkrockbio.com/p/we-wanted-so…

"Medical, Pharma, Biotech" is the only option in Zoom registration That's like saying "Ads, SaaS, Software" Surely there's other cool things Software, and Biotech can do.

Stoked to launch Garden Grants to fund the de-risking of early-stage ideas in climate biotech! The first call for proposals is scoped on protein engineering and sustainability. Can't wait to support exciting ideas from the community!

We’ve learned from the $10k Ideas Challenge that there is demand for a more hands-on growth opportunity with peers. Ideas Matter is an eight-week writing fellowship for biology. Learn from amazing guests, find your community, and catalyze your writing.

Important problems is how you do important work. The Garden Grants funding opportunity, hosted on Experiment.com, expects applicants to state great problem statements that could then be made public. But what’s a good problem?

Natural methane sink enhancement would offer enormous near-term warming mitigation potential. Spark's exploratory grants offer up to $300k to start sink-enhancement research. Fantastic to see an open problem statement model on top of funding, to help learning and collaboration!

I'm thrilled for Homeworld to be supporting such great teams! Huge appreciation to Daniel Goodwin, Paul Himmelstein, and Ariana Caiati for being fantastic teammates and working so hard make our first Garden Grants a success.

Stoked to see expansion in situ genome sequencing (ExIGS) through hard work by zack chiang, Ajay Labade, @carolinecomenho! Early proof of concept was a big part of my PhD with Andrew Payne and zack chiang. Amazed by the robust protocol and amazing data the new team developed.
