Now been birding proper for over 50 years! Seen many changes and still learning. Keen on migration & breeding biology. Favourite bird is the amazing Swallow.

Like two different seasons here today. Blazing sun and not even a zephyr at S facing back patio 🥵yet at N facing shaded front exposed to biting F4 N wind it is bloody brassic 🥶. Actual temperature is about 9c some 2c or so below long term average.

The #RejoinEU campaign is about to move up a gear. Here's the plan: At the election, get the Brexiters OUT and as many pro-European candidates as possible IN. After the election, day one, we all pile on the pressure for Rejoin! Retweet if you're with us.

If everyone who wants The Conversatives out on the 4th of July follows and retweets we'll reach a million by midnight and have a much bigger voice for the next six weeks.

With 2 singing male RBFlys actually found by birders and after the incredible spring passage numbers on coasts and islands one wonders how many RBShrikes Marsh and Icterine Warblers have settled to attempt breeding in the vast amount of largely unchecked habitat in Scotland ?

A little snatch of Lamesley Quail song from fairly close but typically invisible male. Only called in whilst passing on off chance given time of day. Sang for 15 minutes from 13:00 despite the breeze but gone quieter now just odd quipipips. No doubt will sing in evening

I don’t mind the Blackbirds sneaking into the conservatory to pinch cat food but Magpies are following the lead and just had to chase out a Herring Gull. Cats are now 14 so just sit there watching them as if to say l can’t be bothered. Most mornings l know just how they feel🤣

Only seen one before. It was like looking at the sun! It wasn’t hard work either just lifted my bins whilst sitting next to the pool in my brother’s garden when he lived in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Happy Days!
