I did have a difference of opinion about her power-level; In the Heavy Metal movie she isn't invulnerable, she's hurt, bleeds. Makes her swordsmanship matter and allows for 'stakes'.

At that point I think I needed to write as well as draw.

I loved drawing Taarna--the kind of fantasy character that is really in my wheelhouse.
Why didn't I draw more?
The pay rate was low, which I knew when I accepted it--but half the pay came months after publication. That meant half a year after drawing it.
Just not acceptable.

Yes! There's another self-contained Solomon Kane story for Savage Sword coming after Master of the Hunt.
It's called Blood from a Stone and touches on Kane's time as a sellsword in the war against the Great Sultan Sulieman and the Ottoman empire.

When Savage Sword of Conan arrived (it's a black and white newsprint comic magazine), the first thing I did after looking at the cover was open it wide, stick my nose in the spine, and inhale the newsprint and ink aroma!
I would buy candles that smelled like that :)

I like making my pour over, even if I do spend 15 minutes heating the kettle, soaking the grounds.
A chance to step away from the drawing table for a bit.
