People love the parts of scripture that sound like them.

If all sin is placing something more important than God, then sin always begins with the character assassination of God. We don't believe he is really good.

If God is real, why do we assume he will perfectly align with our views? If He never challenges our assumptions you may have a made-up God. We should expect God to challenge us on what we think is right somewhere in our lives- economically, socially, sexually, and personally.

There comes a time when every church has to decide whether they're actually a church or a just a place where you go to get your theology petted.

The church doesn't need another cool, self-promoting, self-obsessed opportunistic entertainer, we need humble servant-shepherds who have died to self, who are willing to be disliked for preaching the truth, and who preach the Word no matter the cost.

Praise God for His goodness!!

Matt Smethurst I think Acts talks about both. 2:47, 4:4, 6:1, 6:7, 16:5 all speak of the church increasing in numbers. Although I still agree with you.

Today marks five years since R.C. Sproul went to be with the Lord. Not a day goes by that I do not miss that happy warrior—his wisdom and wit, his zeal and his love, his boldness and his kindness.

Eighty-four years ago today, R.C. Sproul was born. We give thanks to the Lord for the life and ministry of our beloved founder, and all glory belongs to God as Dr. Sproul’s biblical teaching now reaches more Christians in more places and languages than ever before.

Singleness is not treated as strange in the Bible. The Apostle Paul prized singleness as a calling and a unique gift from God to be lived out to his glory.

Why would you give way to fear when everything that would cause you to be afraid is under the careful control of your Sovereign Savior of wisdom, power, grace and love?

Because I am absolutely loved, because God has smitten Jesus for me, because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, I can take off the gloves about my own sin. I can be honest finally. I can admit who I am.
