Biggest turnout yet at the Ukrainian Village Parade. I saw many neighbors and familiar faces today as I walked the route and tossed candy to the kids.

This year, State Rep. Sean Brennan served as the parade’s grand marshal.

There were wheels of all types and sizes along the parade route.

A Tuba Salute: Parma Schools Normandy Marching Band tuba players parted from the band to give their special salute to a Parma Auxiliary Police officer.

From traditional to colorful, the parade attire was vibrant.

Ukrainian pride was on display today. It was heartwarming to see so many Parma residents come together to celebrate our Ukrainian community.

A formal presentation followed the parade. Sen. Sherrod Brown, Congressman Max Miller and State Rep. Sean Brennan all spoke about the importance of supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees who have resettled in NE Ohio. Many of those refugees have found new homes in Parma.

This is the 2nd year Council President Vito Dipierro and I signed a resolution supporting Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. In September, City Hall will be lit at night in teal. Parma resident Heather Marie Karr, who has battled the disease for 15 years, joined us for the signing.

West Creek Conservancy's Executive Director Derek Schafer will join other conservationists this Saturday at the Watershed Stewardship Center to talk about nature, conservation and connecting people to the Cleveland Metroparks, including our beautiful West Creek Reservation in Parma.

This evening, I spoke at the Parma Fire Dept and Parma Police Department’s annual 9/11 service at the 9/11 Memorial outside The Shoppes at Parma. The ceremony honored the brave NYC and New Jersey first responders who lost their lives trying to save others. #neverforget911
