Wow! So nice to see that the complex genetics of NK cell education revealed by Horowitz Lab @Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai has a role in AML and Immunotherapy. Makes perfect sense!

Thanks to Christina Tato Chan Zuckerburg biohub for very nice highlight of my 2013 CyTOF study with Parham Lab and Catherine Blish published Nature Rev Immunol. 1st report of human NK cells by CyTOF. nature.com/articles/s4157…

1/x. NK cell education is tightly linked to remodelling of the lysosomal compartment. Educated NK cells carry a greater cytotoxic payload in large dense-core secretory lysosomes (See T shirt). rdcu.be/bjoz0 @jodegoodridge Center for Infectious Medicine @UiO_LifeSci Nature Communications

Our new perspective on the exciting research from Malcolm Sim and others, an encouraging step for identifying orphan KIR ligands and a role for NK cells in defense against bacterial infection.

Very excited to say our paper exploring CD56neg NK cells has been published! Through a combination of meta-analysis, and both CyTOF and scRNAseq datasets, we investigate this unique population of NK cells linked to HIV-1 and other chronic virus infections frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
