Charlie has been paddling in coniston. He very nearly swam. We greated this whoops and claps, like proud parents at the sports day

Picked up after my dog, as one should. Not a bin anywhere on a 14.5 miles walk. Back at base, its still in my pocket. I wondr if my dog Charlie appreciates me.

Who thought a boiler suit was a serious uniform for a burgeoning professional group. I apologise for my ultra large lens on my specs, i should have known better.

This device (60s & 70s) was finally replaced with the bag valve mask as a portable resuscitation item. Hard to use, hard to clean, usually sat in that wooden box generating additional bacteria to share with the next patient. Autoclave you say? I doubt many amb staff washed hands

The ROSPA safe driving awards. Should it be resurrected and pay the staff the 5 shillings (25p) for avoidance of vehicle dings. Might need a bigger incentive.

I *love* days like today! Just got to telephone a healthcare client to tell them we have won their registration appeal four years after they first applied for registration, hurrah! I love passing on good news, it is the very best part of the job 🙌

This was probably the most common item of kit. Linked to an incontinence pad and occasionally a blanket pin. The science behind blanket folding and blanket rolls is another realm. 6 minimum on a vehicle.

A Brooks airway, issued to us ordinary ambulance driver / attendants for mouth to mouth resuscitation. Only intubation and infusion (I&I) staff (pre-paramedic) had bag valve mask.
I kid you not. I got to be I&I in 1984.

This was vehicle issue in the 70s and 80s. Supposed to be a seat belt cutter. I worked at a station next to the M1 for many years and despite a lot of trauma calls never used this blunt tool.

The white ambulance (Kenton 1) was snapped in the rear yard in 1983. That lovely black car is my 1949 Triumph renown 2000 TC that i owned in that era. Took it in to shift on a Sunday to wash and detail it to sell to have deposit for our first flat. Paid 900 & sold for 1500. Yay..
