Onnophris was described as having “hollow eyes” (κοιλόφθαλμος), thought by some translators to refer to blindness. But, contemporary Greek sources used the same word when describing horses: 'hollow' rather than “protruding” eyes. He wasn't blind: his eyes were sunken or deep-set.

Onnophris is special to me for a few reasons, which I’ll detail when I finish him. But as a teaser: out of nearly 4000 descriptions, Onnophris is one of only twelve (!) descriptions in Demotic. He is the one, single description (!) recorded in both Demotic and Greek.
