Ann Arbor Public Schools has handed out/delivered upwards of 50,000 meals these past two weeks. And we are not stopping.

The next person who tells me to “have a great Spring Break,” is going to get socially distanced slapped. (Not really, I’m not a violent person, but you get my meaning)

Is it just me, or do all of these first day of school pics of students and staff have a sad aspect? The inequity on both the student and staff side seem to be screaming at us.

If you are fond of saying “We got!this!” or “Let’s do this!” or “You got this!” Please turn away from me, for now. How about “Are you doing okay?” or “How can I help you?” or “Let’s do this together.” Just sayin’.

The new school year is upon us, it will be weird. As always, I’ll try to give students compassion and safety. But, I should have learned much from the last year and a half and now I can apply it. I don’t want to get back to “normal.” I don’t want to go back at all.

Today a student said that when I tell a story about my past, he sees it in black and white. Really?!
