Shawn Soares was talented and passionate young man with a bright future, and the Governor and I were privileged to have known him. Our hearts grieve with his family and friends.

What an incredible honor and privilege it's been to serve as First Lady. Four years ago I said we'd work to make a difference in the lives of children. Now, thousands more children have access to quality early learning programs, a launchpad to success in school and beyond. 🚀

And that includes doubling our state Pre-K investment to provide a record 25,000 slots for 3 and 4 year olds. Four years later, Virginia is providing more opportunities for families with Little Learners than ever before! 🚀
