It was great to meet the other members of the CambridgeESS&C-CLEAR DTP* cohort on Thursday and Friday this week. We were treated to tours of the Botanic Gardens and Madingley Hall (see pictures), and a lovely formal dinner! *Where the money (and training sessions, etc.) comes from!
I'm happy to now be a matriculated postgraduate member of Corpus Christi. The day involved signing an old book, tours of the libraries and some very tasty cake! Thanks to George Garnett for the picture of me.
This week, I've been settling into the Cambridge Earth Sciences department – it's gone by rather quickly, but it's been fun meeting my fellow grad students, demonstrating in a practical and getting my own office! A particular highlight was a tour of the new The Sedgwick Museum collections store:
Thanks to Tim, Dan and the team Earth and Environment at Leeds for giving me the opportunity to help with the analysis of this earthquake data back in 2020. I'd encourage anyone interested in earthquakes from deforming subducted slabs to read our paper!
