Farewell to NBA Tour stops in Atlanta where good friend, and even better person, Nate McMillan, coaches the Hawks. Truly enjoyed our time when he was with the Pacers as first, an assistant, then later as head coach.

Farewell to NBA Tour stops in Boston where I hooked up with long time mentor, Celtics’ PR honcho Jeff Twiss. Taught me many valuable lessons that allowed me to endure for many years. Jeff one of the best in all of sports. We did not set the pregame mood lighting.

Also while in Boston on NBA Farewell Tour spent some time with a familiar Indiana face, Celtics head of basketball operations Brad Stevens. We did not discuss the Butler job opening.

Farewell to NBA Tour in Gainbridge Fieldhouse and I can’t thank our owner Herb Simon enough for putting up with me first as a beat writer back in 1983 and later as an employee of a first-class organization.
