One of our favorite materials incl. these architectural drawings of the original 1906 Librarian's office and their fireplace. Ornate and stunning, yet not the best idea to mix fire and room full of books 🤔🤔

It's #NationalBookLoversDay and our library has a collection of over 10,000 books and monographs. While mostly for research and legislative history, we have a small collection on Pennsylvania history and interest, available for browsing. 📖📖

The Senate Library of Pennsylvania is one of the only rooms in the Main Capitol still used for its original purpose. Original to 1906, it's gone through many changes but was preserved back to its original look around the 1990's. Here it was in the 1970's.. art deco white 📚
