Detectives from our Terrorism Investigation Unit investigating the activities of the New IRA, have made two arrests today, Friday 16th August, in the Belfast area.

Two men aged 51 and 39 years old arrested on Friday 16th August by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit investigating the activities of the New IRA, have both been released following questioning. The investigation remains ongoing.

There will be some disruption to traffic in Belfast tomorrow due to Royal Black Preceptory parades.

The Westlink in Belfast is currently closed to traffic heading citybound at the Broadway roundabout due to a road traffic collision. Delays are to be expected and motorists should seek an alternative route for their journey.
