Toady Una visited P 1 & P 2 to tell them about the Brátig Bríde tradition. On the eve of the feast day people traditionally leave a cloth or scarf outside to be blessed by Brigid as she passes. The garment can then be used as a cure for sore throats and headaches.

Our P5 classes attended a trip to Navan Fort today to learn more about our World Around Us topic, the Ancient Egyptians.  The children got to speak to Egyptians; a farmer and a slave and to make a Pharaoh’s crown.

World book Day got off to a great start with an impromptu “Readathon” in the Assembly Hall before class even started this morning! Lots of reading, sharing of books and book related chat. A great start to the day’s activities more photos to follow over the next few days.

📚World Book Day- P3 had a story filled day yesterday, a Chinese story with Miss Renxiu & an online session with Irish author/illustrator, Paddy Donnelly, one of the World Book Day Voucher authors. Inspired by Paddy’s book Fox & Sons Tailers, they designed their own fox tails!

The highlight of WBD for P6 was a visit from the author and illustrator of their class novel, Vikings, John Farrelly! “Irish history isn’t boring … it’s DEADLY!”  (From the blurb of John’s book), P6 definitely think so!!!

✨Something magical happened in our Nursery Class for World Book Day... it turned into a "Fairy Tale World"! ✨ The boys and girls loved sharing their learning and play with their favourite cuddly toy and then cuddling up for a story.

Three goats…and a bridge, P5B proving you are NEVER too old for a Fairytale on World Book Day! Feeling sorry for the much maligned troll they designed & built bridges to dull the sound of hooves trip-trapping overhead. They painted landscapes with a bridge. Hopefully a happy 😈

Those naughty elves from "The Elves and the Shoemaker" caused mayhem in P2 on World Book Day, they cut up the pages from the story and left them hanging around the play yard out of sequence! Poor P2 had a busy morning reading the pages and putting them back in order.

Wow! The stage is set for the Peace Proms 2025 at the SSE Arena and it looks amazing! The hard work is over, excitement is rising, we can’t wait for our families to arrive and to perform for them. Enjoy the show everyone.

P4 & P5 Pupils had a treat on Monday when Miss Renxiu and colleagues from the Confucius Institute held workshops in blow ink, plum blossom drawing and spinning handkerchiefs. This was followed with a performance of traditional Chinese dances.

It is with disappointment that we inform you that “Scoil Spreagtha” comes to an end in June due to funding issues. Just as our P6 and P7 Pupils were presented with their “Cúpla Focal” pins . Show your support for the scheme by completing 👇 bit.ly/Tacaigh

Thank you to Patricia, from the Livestock and Meat Commission for her cookery demonstrations for our P5 Pupils. We are sure some Mums and Dads will be surprised to hear that everyone tasted and enjoyed the dish cooked, even though it contained the dreaded... VEGETABLES. 🍅🍆🥒🥕
