The 68th IAEA General Confernce #IAEAGC has started today in Vienna.

Mr. Andrzej Glowacki, President of the National Atomic Energy Agency delivered a speech during 68. #IAEAGC. He spoke of the 🇵🇱goverment nuclear programme as a significant contribution to the fight against climate change.

Preseident A.Głowacki further stressed that 🇵🇱 government considers nuclear energy as a valuable dispatchable source of clean energy and - what became crucial due to the Russia’s full-scale aggression on 🇺🇦 – crucial to ensuring energy security.

"For 🇵🇱 nuc. power is a vital and necessary part of the future low-carbon global energy mix. Nuc. power utilization corresponds with the policies to reach the UN SDGs. The roadmap for the process provides that up to 9 GW of nuc. power capacity will be put into operation by 2043"

"RU troops are illegally occupying the Zaporizhzhia NPP in clear contradiction with the NPT, the Statute of IAEA and numerous international nuclear safety and security regulations. RU must immediately cease occupation of Zaporizhzia NPP and withdraw its military equipment".
