Though it was enough, as BGS put the pressure for the 3rd, we were then countered by the opponents athleticism to twice more. 4-1 final score.

Our Y7s took on Haven High this evening in their first opportunity to represent the school. They came flying out of the traps playing some lovely football and at half time we were ahead 7-0. This allowed for some experimentation with positions ahead of several upcoming games…

We took a more measured approach to the second half with the emphasis placed upon maintaining possession for longer. The final score was 12-1. Stec ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ Shaw ⚽️⚽️ Garrard ⚽️ Clubb ⚽️⚽️ Wright ⚽️ Franks⚽️ An impressive first performance from the U12 team 👏

A successful Y5 open evening with lots of new faces looking round the PE department. Look forward to welcoming them again in the future.

Also thanks to our Y7 helpers who made it a fantastic evening with their big personalities and fantastic support to the Y5’s.

The Y9 team returned to league football tonight with a home match against Giles, after a tough time in recent weeks, the boys were looking to get their first win of the year.

The game started promisingly with BGS on the front foot, executing and finding joy balls into the channels. Nico broke the deadlock after a ball was played out wide where Kawecki delivered a nice ball into the 6 yard box for it to be tapped in.

Singh was searching for his first BGS goal after making it into the team for the first time this year. That he did with a well taken goal to make it 2-0. The visitors then returned with a goal on the break to make it 2-1.

The game was tight right up until the last 20 minutes. However, BGS began to really turn it on and move the ball excellently. As a result, goals came in quick succession from Singh, Kawecki, Vernon x2 & Borbely (C). The final scored finished 7-1 to BGS.

MOTM: Abdu (Y8) - a solid display at the heart of the back four. Showed excellent composure throughout. Even got a 5 minute cameo up front! 👏🏻

Our Y7 team returned to action for their second game of the league campaign, also facing Giles. Similarly to last week, we came out of the traps quickly and played some really lovely football. Goals from Anisjko (2), Shaw, Clubb and Wright saw us take a 5-0 lead into HT.

Once again, the fast start enabled Mr Thompson to make some changes and experiment with some players in different positions, something that will be key as we approach our first fixture in the National Cup over the next couple of weeks.

In the second half, we unfortunately conceded a penalty which was brilliantly converted by the Giles player. There was a response from our boys, however, with a neat move being finished off by Stone later on.

There were outstanding performances all around. Honourable mentions for Anisjko on debut, Shaw as captain backing up last week’s performance, Bedford barely letting a single player past him at LB and Clubb responding to tactical changes to create some chances…

However, it is Fenwick that takes MOTM today. Not only for his positive attitude despite starting on the bench, but for an excellent display in defence. An example to all and a real statement performance! Well done Devon!👏

The 1st XI returned to league action this afternoon against last years champions Priory Ruskin. The boys had started off well against the physical oppositions, however a mix up at the back saw the PRA left winger tap the ball into an open net.

A good response in the beginning of the 2nd half, only for a very similar mix up to happen again to make it 2-0. BGS then conceded a further 2 goals as we lacked creativity to make the chances at the other end.

A real wake up call for the new sixth form team, playing their first senior football match in what will be one of the most physical games of the season.
