'Fire Escape' Back in #Manchester! A tad clean and gentrified for my usual tastes but a beautiful fire escape, lights and cobbles on Little David Street. 60cmx40cm

A superb talk given by Dr. Bendor Grosvenor 🇺🇦 last night for the Oxford Art Society Associates at Trinity College Oxford, all about the Invention of British Art. If only the lectures I attended at art school were anywhere near as good as this! #arthistory #art #britishart

There’s a great story in today’s Times on the psychological benefits of looking at art. You and I, dear art lovers, know this already! But the story is interesting because it gives a scientific context to more ancient beliefs about why we make art. 1/

Wonderful to be painting in the beautiful village of Roundstone on the West Coast of Ireland. So much inspiration around to get the brushes moving! #ireland #pleinair

It's not that we don't have fascists, we do! But you'll never see ours trying to paint this bad boy on shops or roundabouts. Maybe the England flag needs an upgrade to something you'd at least need a GCSE in art to attempt it.

The latest episode of our Adventures in Art is out. This week we discuss Bosch, Michelangelo, and Donald Trump’s taste for gold. And in the Times, James Marriott has kindly given us a 5* review!
