Thanks to George School sophomore, Chase Q, for volunteering to design, laser cut, and assemble 200+ robot wheels in preparation for the start of the 2019-20 academic year! The 100-watt Boss Laser laser cutter in the #FISHBOWL got a real workout!
Kairo ('20) created this bendable prototype from solid plywood using the 100W laser cutter in the Robotics Lab George School. He's testing the flexibility of various cut patterns for a rolltop desk that he's making in his Woodworking class. #FISHBOWL #interdisciplinary Boss Laser
105 #GeorgeSchool students participated in the GS Climate Strike on Friday. The march was to demand action to address #climatechange before the UN Climate Summit. Before leaving campus, residents from Pennswood Village dropped by to share encouraging messages. #SayYesToGS
Robin Bouchet ('20) is the first student George School to experiment with pogo pins! Here, he's soldering them onto a Teensy 3.5 socket kit for his RGB LED light cube for his independent project. (He loves pushing the envelope!) His cube will make 1.061BILLION color combinations.
Hunter Angst is this year's first Physical Computing & Robotics student to laser cut his nameplate with the Boss Laser in the FISHBOWL George School!
Are my students George School paying attention? Pretty nifty invention: Teen girl invents simple, yet innovative way to remove blind spots in cars flip.it/nn8n9S
The murder of George Floyd was the result of inhumane police brutality that is perpetuated by a culture of white supremacy. Learn more via Ben & Jerry's: benjerry.com/about-us/media… via Ben & Jerry's

Inspired by instructables.com/Box-Jack-O-Lan… I made this with OnShape, a laser cutter & 3Dprinter in the Kwok Lab St. Paul's School. Can't wait to see what my students make & how theirs will look with their microcontrollers simulating a flickering candle! (Face from free-printablehq. com)
A cool view of the 100W laser beam through the smoke of a laser-cut midi drum set. The piece was designed by Mel, a Robotics student George School, and cut on our Boss Laser LS-1630. The really cool thing: this was her first version & her first time EVER to use the laser cutter!
Thomas, a first year Robotics Student George School tests his own 3D-printed Rubik's Cube solver for the first time. His cube is operated by two servo motors, which respond to code he's written for his Teensy 3.2 microcontroller from pattonrobotics.
Howdy, Rain bumming you out? Come see local high school and college students in a battle of wits and transistors George School's Invitational Robotics Competition. The 6-hour hack-a-thon style contest is in the Science building and is appropriate for everyone. Ends around 3pm.
Come cheer on students George School as they frantically program robots to: •Navigate a complex maze, •monitor a home security system, •measure the speed of a toy car, •find the period of a pendulum, •unlock a combination lock, •and locate the brightest light source.
