This Proof Eisenhower Dollar is a true anomaly. Double-struck on a quarter planchet, it features a strike and planchet error. Proof coins go through extra inspection. Yet, this piece still escaped the Mint, making this error especially rare and collectible.

This 1909-S Lincoln Cent has the initials of designer Victor David Brenner on the bottom center of the reverse. People found them to be too obvious, prompting the Mint to quickly remove the initials and creating a highly sought-after variety.

After WWII paused proof coin production, the 1950 Proof Franklin Half Dollar helped mark a return to normal at the Mint. As one of the first coins struck postwar, these pieces mark a special place in the hearts of collectors.

Half cents were struck in five different designs, and this example features the Classic Head. Though a more common issue, its sharp details and brilliant toning make it a standout among early copper.

This Lincoln Cent isn’t full of post-mint damage – it was struck through a late-stage die cap. A die cap happens when a coin gets stuck to the die after being struck. The die cap had been stuck on the die for so long that it was wearing thin, leaving a ghost image of the design.
