Our officers assisted South West Regional Organised Crime Unit in bringing a man to justice for importing cocaine from the UK to Jamaica concealed in bottles of liquids.

Thanks to funding brought into Dorset by my Office, 750 farmers have been given anti-theft packs to mark their tools and make it easier for Dorset Police to identify stolen items. The Rural Crime Team has done a great job recovering £2.2 million worth of equipment since 2022.

Poaching causes suffering to animals but also has a financial impact on farmers that see their fields torn up and gates knocked down. I want to thank officers for their continued dedication as part of Op Galileo, which has seen poaching reduced by 25% since I took Office in 2021.

My office has worked with AGE UK and Dorset Police to facilitate call blockers for older people in Dorset. The project protects vulnerable individuals from fraudulent callers, a problem that often leaves victims feeling isolated, emotionally devastated, and financially exploited.

I am delighted my Office has secured £1million of funding for a second year, which will significantly help us to continue to drive down ASB. So far, in the areas Op Track has been introduced there has been a 70% reduction in serious violent crime and reported ASB.

During the period between 1 April 2024 through to 31 March 2025, Dorset ICVs made 104 suite visits and spoke with 303 detainees. The unannounced visits were conducted at times throughout the 24-hour day. Nationally, an average of 75 detainees were visited every day of the year.

On 27 June, Dorset Youth will host the Dorchester Gaining Independence Gala, providing young people with independent living skills. Workshops range from teaching cooking skills to learning about mortgages. Please scan the QR code to sign up to any workshops.
