The drumming circle at Casa Esperanza is back! We’re so excited to relaunch this program and give the kids a space to express themselves through music. The drum circle happens every Thursday evening at Casa Esperanza—if you’re interested in joining, feel free to reach out to us!

Agua University students wrapped up their final walkshop with a day on Bradley Avenue! They rolled up their sleeves to help clean the streets and take pride in their neighborhood. A great way to end the program—with community care and collective action!

Our Junior Field Rangers made a splash at the LA River! They paddled through a two-mile round trip starting at the Sepulveda Basin, taking in nature from a whole new perspective. Huge thanks to MRCA Parks for helping create an oar-some experience our rangers won’t forget!

Thursday nights at Casa Esperanza are alive with rhythm and community! We’ve officially brought back our Drumming Circle—where youth kick things off with high energy and creativity, followed by the Men’s Circle keeping the momentum going into the evening.

Over the past few weeks, our dedicated community members have gained so many valuable skills. Thank you to Everyone On and the incredible Abigail for her patience, encouragement, and constant smile. With these new computer skills, our community is truly unstoppable!

Another amazing Mercado Pacoima! This month, we were excited to feature a delicious new homegrown fruit, sapote, which quickly became a crowd favorite. We also gave away a variety of plants, from chili peppers to horsetails to tomatoes.

Our Junior Field Rangers had a bird-tastic time exploring Lake Balboa! From spotting local wildlife to learning the basics of birdwatching, it was a fun and educational day out in nature. Huge thanks to our Deputy Director Quyen for guiding the adventure!

The Urban Gardening portion of the LA Sanitation Home Composting Workshop has been canceled until further notice. The Home Composting segment will still take place as scheduled — just without the gardening portion. We look forward to seeing you at the next composting session!
