Hectic week getting two new nutrition trials up and running, with the heavy rainfall over the long weekend not helping! Very lucky, however, to have excellent staff, cows and resources #MilkFat #PASTURE-NUE Teagasc

It’s been a pleasure coordinating and delivering the Animal Nutrition II module for the UCC Ireland Ag Science degree. Back in October we brought the 4th years down to see one of our #PASTURE-NUE experiments Teagasc Biological, Earth & Environmental Sciences, UCC Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (1/2)

It was a pleasure visiting the 'farming club' and 6th year Ag Science class of the Skibbereen community school. Boy they kept me on my toes. The future is bright for the Ag industry! #PASTURE_NUE #ScienceCommunication #Future #WestCork skibbereencommunityschool.ie/school-news/20…

The beautiful sunshine over the last few days brings back great memories from last summer performing an experiment for the #PASTURE-NUE project

Experiment update: Low Crude Protein concentrate trial at the Dairygold Farm, Kilworth. An experiment is on-going comparing cows receiving concentrate with differing levels of CP (8-15% CP). All cows receive 3 kg of concentrate/day.

Red-clover silage trial at the Dairygold Farm, Kilworth. The cows finished the experimental period on which they were receiving 7 kg DM of either grass silage or grass-red clover silage at night and fresh grass during the day, with 4 kg of concentrate in the milking parlour.
