Would you like some 14C dates? The next NEIF deadline is 9th October. We love to help with project design and are able to give advice on your applications, so please get in contact if you would like to apply. We are delighted to share that our Green Impact team has been awarded the Gold Award for Environmental Sustainability this year! Well done team! 💚🥼🌍🏆Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit PalaeoBARN Oxford Tephrochronology Group OxfordSocialSciences Environment @ Oxford arch.ox.ac.uk/article/school…

Lab work can be very hypnotic. Our volunteer Lingwa Eric Shi is trying to extract 14C datable protein from tooth enamel. Slow and patient, but very exciting!

Christopher Ramsey has contributed to a new review lead by Tim Heaton of Miyake events and why we are so excited about them. Single year dating, solar storms and carbon cycle. Oxford School of Archaeology nature.com/articles/s4158…

Do you need funding for 14C dates? Do you want one of these 'targets' to contain your sample? If so, the next NEIF deadline is rapidly approaching; 9th October. You can even come to the lab and learn how to make a target! National Environmental Isotope Facility Oxford School of Archaeology isotopesuk.org/apply.html

One week before the NEIF deadline! There is still time to write a proposal if you need some 14C dates for your project, but please do get in contact asap. Oxford School of Archaeology National Environmental Isotope Facility isotopesuk.org/apply.html

Spent a couple of inspiring days at Butser Ancient Farm with the Oxford School of Archaeology MSc Arch Sci students. What a wonderful start to their course. Lots of ideas about organic materials, processing and inbuilt ages... and copper smelting is pretty cool as well! Thank you Therese and Kat.

Registration for the annual NERC Radiocarbon Short Course is now live Oxford School of Archaeology National Environmental Isotope Facility. NERC DTP students can come for free (email us) and the QRA have 2 scholarships. conted.ox.ac.uk/courses/short-…

The new Oxford Doctoral Training Program in Environmental Research (ILESLA) has been announced. Please get in contact if would like to pursue a radiocarbon based DPhil (=PhD) with us, and need funding for your scholarship and research! Oxford School of Archaeology environmental-research.ox.ac.uk
