Beyond the notes below… Dr Helmcken Memorial Hospital is trucking in potable water and bottled water to stay open. Telus cell towers are down in Vavenby and likely elsewhere.

We are trucking in water to keep fire flow for emergencies.  The hospital is trucking in drinking water and potable water for basic operations. Telus cell and internet is crawling or out - I expect to hear the modem sound every time I send a text. Latest ET is 3:30 for power.

Total gratitude to #Valemount crews to island us to IPPs. What was done to support Merlin Blackwell, Clearwater Mayor 🤦‍♂️ from an OG outage of 6 hours then extended to almost 20 hrs was truly unacceptable. Line up @simpcw fire resources to monitor for wildfire, punch in your access, then disconnect.

Tough passing there after/before; lots of curves. Depending on the direction, there are passing options heading south of Camp Creek. My thoughts are with families of those involved and also first responders who are mostly volunteers

1,736km to Terrace return to Valemount w/ their retired back-up genny in 35 hrs is not ideal for how wow of an area #BCHwy16W is to go thru! But it was super cool to talk about the construction with someone who worked on it in the late 60’s. My dad rode shotgun. Great road trip!!
